An SSUC Christmas Day Dinner: You Belong Here

The holidays can be a joyful time, but for many, Christmas can also feel isolating. You might be spending Christmas alone for any number of reasons; perhaps you’re far from family, navigating loss or change, working through a difficult season, or simply seeking a space where you can be your authentic self. We especially recognize that for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, the holidays can bring unique challenges, including not always feeling safe or fully accepted in every environment. Let’s create a Christmas day place for anyone – EVERYONE – to belong and celebrate the season. We’ll provide the turkey and potatoes; guests provide the other “Christmas Dinner Necessities.”

Who’s Invited: This event is open to members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, our friends, and our allies. No matter your journey, background, or reason for joining us, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment for all people. No matter your reason for coming or whether you bring a dish, a story, or just yourself, it will be wonderful to share this festive evening with you.

When: December 25, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Where: SSUC Large Hall, Small Hall, and Kitchen
Cost: Cash donations to offset the cost of turkey and potatoes are encouraged but not required. No one will be turned away if unable to contribute a dish or donation.

How to participate:

• RSVP: Sign up now so we can plan for food, seating, and activities, ensuring everyone has a place at the table.
• VOLUNTEER: Roles include decorating, kitchen prep, beverage service, and post-event cleanup. Your support makes this event possible and helps foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere.
• DONATE A DISH: Guests are invited to contribute to the meal by bringing a dish. Please include ingredient lists with any donations so we can accommodate dietary restrictions. If unable to bring a dish, you’re still very welcome to attend.
