On February 8th, 2025, SSUC is excited to present a special fundraising concert featuring food, storytelling, and music. An opportunity to sample some authentic Syrian dishes prepared by Aeshah, Rukiah, and Noor. To hear tales from Ruth Stewart-Verger and Dean Verger of families forced to leave home and find courage in a new land. Plus Janet Dougan & Pam Patten will brighten your heart with cello and piano music.
Tickets are $30 and include both the tastings of a variety of Syrian dishes and the performance. Available through the SSUC website (scroll down to the Tickets section on this page) and Eventbrite if you prefer!
The money raised will help to bring a family and their three-year-old here to Edmonton, out of a refugee camp.
