Describing the spiritual “flavour” of SSUC is challenging, isn’t it? Again, it’s easy to say what we’re NOT. We’re not focused on creeds or dogma, we’re not constricted by tradition or ancient customs. But let’s be positive by describing positively! Let’s build our vocabulary about how we go about spirituality and faith that is UNIQUELY us!

To participate and belong at SSUC, you don’t have to ascribe to a set of beliefs. Are you seeking goodness? Are you in search of meaning? Do you want to celebrate what is good about life, humanity? Do you want to feel connected to yourself, others, the planet, life? You already belong.

At SSUC, we understand that if we describe things too narrowly or specifically, it might exclude you and your experience. Let’s talk about the spiritual path we all find ourselves on in such ways that everyone can find a doorway into their own exploration. If that’s in a more traditional way – great! If that’s in ways you can’t quite articulate, or if you’re wanting to embrace some things and let go other things from the past – also great! There is a place for all kinds of exploration, questioning and seeking.

What are ways we might describe that? Here are a few you’ve helped offer. SSUC is a place to:

reform or reframe, take apart, examine, and put together in new ways
talk about what’s relevant in life
have permission to explore and question
be about values-based wisdom that’s meant for our living our best humanity
contemplate positive change and transformation
be broad and inviting
connect in all directions
listen and seek understanding
be united in diversity
stretch our thinking and our acting
reach out
seek balance
question beliefs
grow
contemplate what inner peace might look like for us
walk the talk

What’s missing for you?
